TEAM OVERVIEW |
Now in our 17th season, over 20,000 active duty and reserve personnel have participated in our historic program based in San Diego and recognized as the fastest growing, largest, most successful and only “Joint” armed forces baseball organization in the world featuring the most talented players from all branches of our military. Since 1990, we have established over 30 military teams in all services and serve as the organizational model worldwide. In 2005, as in previous years when our country is at war, over 90 percent of our players have served one or more tours in Iraq or Afghanistan. For this reason, our players and staff personally cover our own expenses. With our experience, we are in the best position to represent our men and women overseas because we have first hand knowledge and understand the dynamic challenges of achieving our goals while ensuring that all available resources support our Global War on Terrorism. To support their heroic efforts here in the U.S. we execute an extensive travel schedule of mare than 150 public appearances in support of charities that help our veterans. Players and staff alike fully understand our scope of responsibility far exceeds the games won or lost on the field. However, being true Americans we love to win. Our program is distinguished by a 520-194 overall record of .728 against professional, semiprofessional, and collegiate teams. In 2006, we will compete against some of the finest professional and NCAA sanctioned summer collegiate organizations in the nation during our “Red, White and Blue Tour of America” including the Golden, Southwest Pacific, Semiprofessional, Cape Cod, New England Collegiate, California Collegiate, Coastal Plain, Atlantic, Central Plain, Western, Semiprofessional Baseball Leagues and the Horizon Summer Series. In addition, our schedule will also feature the following special events:
Our program has been featured by all types of media sources, highlighted by a 2003 episode of CBS’ "JAG" based on our annual U.S. Military All-Star Game with 2002 Cy Young Award recipient Barry Zito as our starting pitcher. Our joint dedication to the success of military baseball will continue to promote a positive image in support of our armed forces while attracting future generations to serve our nation and our military. On behalf of our armed forces we would like to thank you in advance for the opportunity to earn your support for our annual “Red, White and Blue Tour” of America.
